Cookie Policy
What this policy covers
This Cookie Policy explains how Trakart uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies on our websites and apps. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use comparable technologies (local storage, session storage, pixels) for similar purposes.
How we use cookies
Strictly necessary
Required to operate the Service — for example, keeping you signed in (Supabase session tokens), security, and load balancing. These do not require consent under ePrivacy/PECR in many jurisdictions because the Service cannot function without them.
Analytics (non-essential)
We may use PostHog (EU hosting) to understand how features are used: a small set of product events such as "profile shared" or "search performed", plus device type. We do not record your IP address, page contents or what you type. These cookies or local storage entries are non-essential in the EU/UK and require your consent: PostHog does not load until you accept analytics, and stops when you withdraw consent.
Performance and error monitoring
Sentry may set cookies or store identifiers to diagnose crashes and errors. Treat as non-essential where consent is required; configure sampling and consent gating per launch checklist.
Content delivery
Cloudflare and our CDN may use cookies or tokens for caching, bot management, and security. Some are strictly necessary; counsel to classify edge cookies per Cloudflare documentation.
Third-party cookies
Embedded media (e.g. Mux player) may set their own cookies when you play video. Their use is governed by the provider's policy.
Your choices
- Consent banner (EU/UK): Accept or reject non-essential cookies; withdraw consent anytime via cookie settings [link placeholder].
- Browser controls: Block or delete cookies in browser settings (may break sign-in).
- Do Not Track: If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, product analytics stay off even after consent.
Retention
Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies vary by purpose (typically up to 12 months for analytics unless you clear them sooner).
Updates
We will update this policy when our tools or legal requirements change.
